PLP Candidate for Long Island, Bahamas · 2026

Her Story

Reneika D. Knowles carries Long Island in her blood. Her grandparents and great-grandparents are from this soil — they knew the rhythm of the tides, the resilience of this community, and the quiet determination of a people who have weathered hurricanes and watched their children leave, yet still stood tall. Their stories shaped her. Their strength runs through her. And when she first walked this island north to south, she wasn't a stranger — she was a granddaughter coming home.
A self-made entrepreneur from the ground up, Reneika built a diverse portfolio of businesses — spearheading construction projects, vacation and car rental companies — long before entering the political arena. As a certified real estate professional at HG Christie (Christie's International Real Estate), she manages over $2 million in assets and has achieved more than $5 million in developer, residential, and commercial sales. She holds both a BREA license and the prestigious Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation.
Her education spans a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Technology and an Associate's Degree in Law and Criminal Justice, complemented by securities training. She has studied at American Intercontinental University, Bellevue University, and the College of The Bahamas.
Reneika represented the Bahamas on the international stage through pageantry — competing as Miss Bahamas at the Miss United Nations Pageants, winning Best Costume in Jamaica (2008), and holding titles including Miss Commonwealth Bahamas, Miss Inter Island, and Miss Bahamas of Elkdom. Through these experiences, she championed youth entrepreneurship and developed the discipline of a leader committed to lasting impact.
In the political arena, Reneika has served as three-term National Vice Chairman of the Progressive Liberal Party and as a Director on the Bahamas Power & Light Board — operating at the highest levels of national leadership and governance. She first ran for office in the Killarney constituency in 2017, gaining invaluable experience that deepened her commitment to public service.
Beyond business and politics, Reneika is a community champion. She has mentored debutantes, donated to charities and orphanages, guided young people in business, and served as President of the Law & Criminal Justice Society at the College of The Bahamas. Her daily philosophy, borrowed from Albert Einstein: "Try not to become a man of success, but rather a man of value."
Her diverse experiences, visionary acumen, and lifelong service are the foundation of a leader built for this moment — and her greatest work is still ahead.
